Walking safaris with our expert guides are an incredible activity that we encourage all guests to do.
Accompanied by highly trained and professional guides, walking safaris offer guests the rare chance to get up-close and personal with the 'little five', as well as learn about the relationship between flora and fauna and the medicinal values of the plants that thrive in the reserve. A highly educational and uniquely enlightening experience, walking safaris follow the tracks, sights, smells and sounds of animals big and small into the wilds of Africa.
The landscape around the camp is flat and very easy for walking, please just bring some trainers/sneakers. What is very exciting is seeing all the old bones of previous kills scattered so close to the camp, you really see the landscape from a different perspective, your senses are alert and your mind is buzzing!
You never know what you will see, our guides will keep you entertained and share their bush stories and experiences with you. You are completely safe, the guides are incredibly well trained and you have the added protection of a ranger.
The walks are very easy and gentle, you will walk along the river and see all the huge pods of hippo always around the camp up close and personal and then head downstream to explore.
The walks can be as long or as short as you like and often finish with a lovely bush breakfast on the banks of the Great Ruaha River.
